Bought Wii for Christmas for the kids, but in truth getting a bit excited about the VC titles for myself.. Seeing that the original Mario Kart and Super Mario World are now part of VC.. Reason being is that the old SNES still holds some of my best gaming memories.

Anyway time to get off memory lane, and back to reality.. What do you Wii owners choose as your preferred controller for the VC titles?

The Classic Controller? Or do you have a gamecube controller? I understand that even the wavebirds work on the Wii's ...

Before i shell out for a couple of classic controllers, am i not better putting this towards two wavebirds?

Or are there any dis-advantages to having wavebirds/classic gamecube controllers over the Wii classic controllers?

Hate to buy only to have to sell, if you know what i mean..

Anyway any advice appreciated.

Also while on the subject, what will these old VC titles look like now on a HDTV? I have grabbed a component lead, but the thing will not be connected until the 25th, so i'll just have to wait.

You could always just get both?

Classic Controller, as the button layout is obviously closer to the SNES controller, so great for the older 8bit/16-bit console games.

Gamecube controller only if you play Gamecube games or uncomfortable with certain Wii games that also use it.

I simply refuse to buy any more devices to control this wii.. First off, the Wii Remote, then then nunchuk, + motion plus, now the classic controller and now you are saying get both the GC and classic? Thanks but no thanks. I'll get one and be done with it.

Well then easily the Classic Controller then.

If you prefer the old uncomfortable SNES feel to it, then the standard one, but personally I would go for the PRO version as it is much more easier to hold with the hands. Also it's only avaliable in black.
