Wii EU price hinted at

I really hope the Wii comes in at or under £150, although I guess my decision might be affected once I know what the bundle will be, and what the accessories costs are, no doubt the default AV connection cable will be rubbish and require a replacement.

Does anyone know if the Wii requires memory card malarkey? Something that always put me off the PS and Nintendo of the past :(

Other than that, I reckon for £150 smackers it's a definite buy. Quite bizarrely I am looking forward to the release quite a lot - something that was a million miles from my mind when they announced the name.

ive decided.

i was getting a gamecube to take to uni with me...

think ill wait for the Wii, when is the release date?

it seems like the best choice for fun gaming? regarding xbox/ps...the cheapest?

anyways....release date and price anyone? :p

Didn't need a memory card to save N64 games.

You did didnt you? Or was it just for particular games?

I seem to remember a memory pack that fitted into the controller anyway.

From wikipedia...

Controller Pak - a memory card that plugged into the controller and allowed the player to save game progress and configuration. The original models from Nintendo offered 256KB Flash RAM, split into 123 pages, but third party models had much more, often in the form of compressed memory. The number of pages that a game occupied varied. A Controller Pak was initially useful or even necessary for the earlier N64 games. Over time, the Controller Pak lost ground to the convenience of a back-up battery (or flash memory) found in some cartridges. Games by Konami often required the Controller Pak for saves, even though the games could have easily contained three or more save-slots (such as in the case of Holy Magic Century)

Hmm, didn't know that. I bought my N64 second hand off a mate, and that came with a memory card, so I put 2 and 2 together and got just over 6 :p

The Wii will have 512MB of built in memory, if you need more you can use SD cards.
Anyway, thanks for that :)

yer some n64 games did need the mem card, in my own collection I rem turok 2 and vigilante 8 both required external memory.

I hope they use the GC/64/senes connection again. If it has the digital out the GC early versions do I can use my component wire.
