Hi all,

The other half has been banging on about getting Wii Fit, despite the fact she had mario galaxy for xmas and it has been played for about 10 mins :/

Anyway, the adverts say the RRP is £70 but looking around at all the online and high street shops it seems to be retailing for around £110

Is it just a case of limited supply = silly prices like with the Wii and DS on the run up to xmas?

What do you get with the Wii Fit package?

Wii board + Wii fit game, £69.99 they retail at. Isn't it illegal for a high st. shop to sell it at anything other than that? Nintendo have fixed prices.

Maybe a marketstall can overprice but thats about it.

Tell her to save her money (or yours), it's absolute rubbish. recently gave mine away to my parents as it takes far to long to get going.

By the time you actually do any excersise you could probabley done all of them before the game has loaded :-/

Nope, it's illegal for them to collude to sell it at a higher price (price fixing), when you have to go through them for it (IE when there are only 2 or 3 possible companies supplying it), but it's in no way illegal for anyone to sell it at above the recommended retail price as suggested by the manufacturer when there is competition in the market.

Apart from that it's pure supply and demand, if it's in short supply and a retailer thinks they can still sell them at the higher price there is nothing legally stopping them from doing so.

when i wanted one 2 or 3 months ago i just checked one of the checker sites every hour and got one within a day @ £69.99 delivered :)

Pre-order one, thats the only Guaranteed way to get one, i told a mate of mine to pre order one but he ended up buying one for £115 and doesn't realise he got ripped.

Im waiting until they can supply them without the huge demand which will be a while.

im trying to get hold of one of these but its quite tricky so far.

im quite happy to buy a package but i will not pay 110 quid for something which should cost 70.

ive signed up to email notification on a few sites and will wait my turn.

Was on a stock checker site today. Got the realtime prompt, went directly to the shop (in stock), went through checkout but within that 2 mins they were all gone !
Stock history shows they always sell out within a few mins.

I'm not paying more than £69.99 no matter what the difficulty is in getting one

I would wait till stock levels rise. ASking price for the only unit in stock £130:eek: around were i live. Managed to find 1 in a major retailer for 70:D

i managed to get mine ordered today also

99.98 including that skiiing game. i feel much better about it becuase im seeing something for my extra 30 quid even if i just trade the thing in.

just by chance spotted it on the one of the stock checkers.

Walked into the local HMV today and they had them in stock. Bought one for RRP :). Game store over the road had stock too.
