Just managed to bag a wii which should be good for when the family get together over xmas. Which games should I get for some multiplayer goodness ? ( wii sports is a given )

Wario Ware is great because it's fast-paced, which is great when you have non-gamers playing it because then they don't get bored. It's been popular at any party I've had the Wii out on. If any of the previous Mario Party games are to go by, they're good fun, but you need time + beer for the best out of them... a bit like older board games really.

I found Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2 pretty fun, the second one is a lot more multiplayer based than the first one and you can have hours of fun with it. I'd recommend it alone for the music and shooting based minigames because they are really fun.

There isn't much multiplayer in Wario Ware though, so it can get a bit dull quickly if you want to play with a group.

Depends on how long you want to play on the Wii though. I agree that there's not a huge amount of multiplayer games in WW, but it allows for everyone to get a go quickly rather than a few people dominating the console for a long time.

How many remotes will you have?

If just the one, then definitely Warioware. I think Rayman's games are mostly one controller taking turns too.

If two, then get Wii Play as well (although obviously that comes with said second remote), and Super Monkey Ball (a lot of the mini-games are rubbish, but there's some gems in there).

If four, then definitely get Bomberman from the VC, because it's ace.

I've got Rayman Rabbids (first one) for the 360 and I do like it but find the long loading times between games anoying, is it the same on the Rabbids 2 on the wii ?

Didn't notice any problems with loading times either. Will pay more attention the next time it's being played.

WW and Mario Party 8 are good if there are going to be kids playing, but I think Rayman will appeal more to the older players. Although I've not played the 2nd one yet.
