Wii -> HDTV

Just ordered a Wii, I've got a 42" HDTV, what do I need to hook it up? TV has usual inputs. What does the Wii come with?

It comes with a composite cable, you're almost certain to be disappointed with the picture quality (from what I've heard on here). An RGB scart will look slightly better, but your best off going for the component cable.

ya component cable cables does help a lot! dont forget to make all settings correct for ** tv or u might get a strange picture lol

Is there a significant difference between the Nintendo official coponent cable and the third party released ones?

Go for the official Component cable. I've never known a 3rd party console cable to be better, so it's safer to go for the official.

3rd party ones seem to be about £5 on the bay, Official ones about £20!

My third party one is fine. Think it is a Joyteck.

Mario Galaxy looks great on my 1680x1050 monitor using the internal scaling. Admittedly it is only 22" but even Wii Sports looked fine (and much better using component) on a 42" LCD that i had it on over the summer.
