Right ive had my Wii since xmas and its all been gravy, i just tried to turn it on and the console turns on fine, i pick up the remote and turn taht on and go to load wii sports up.

The controller then just goes off so i press a button to try turn it back on and it just flashs and doesnt turn on, this happens with both the controllers any ideas whats wrong ?

You may need to assign the controllers to the console? I can't rmeember how exactly you do it but there's a button to push on the controller and one on the console. It might be under the battery cover on the remote, I honestly can't remember.

It's also in the manual if you get stuck.

batteries?

Tried re-syncing them?

I've had a problem with the controllers a couple of times where I've had to actually take the plug out of the socket for the wii and put it back in rather than just putting the wii into standby mode.

I have had the same thing once - definitely wasn't a battery issue and re-synching didn't sort it. Completely powering the Wii off (not just standby) fixed it for me too.

If you press the home button and then go to the remote settings at the bottom and "reconnect" by pressing buttons 1 and 2 at the same time it works for me.

I've not as yet had to completely power the Wii down to regain my controllers - although i did have to do the re-syching with the buttons once or twice after the batteries died in my original remote - now got some 2300mAh AA's :)

Yeah, check the battery levels on the controllers... with the console switched off you can see the amount of battery life remaining by the number of flashing blue lights.
