Wii: Manhunt 2 - Withdrawn

****

1 Wii for sale then I guess :/

Also all the folk that say the first Manhunt was bad - did you play more than the first 3 levels? It gets loads better after the first area and offers up some pretty difficult gameplay

I played most of the way through but just found it all to be a bit repetative and samey!

I only PAL PS2 games will play, whereas PS3 games arent neccessarily region locked.

Developer "disappointed" by the BBFC's decision

Rockstar has issued GamesRadar with an official response to today's announcement by the BBFC that it has rejected Manhunt 2 for rating. Here's the statement in full:
"We are disappointed with the recent decision by the British Board of Film Classification to refuse classification of Manhunt 2. While we respect the authority of the classification board and will abide by the rules, we emphatically disagree with this particular decision.

"Manhunt 2 is an entertainment experience for fans of psychological thrillers and horror. The subject matter of this game is in line with other mainstream entertainment choices for adult consumers.

"We respect those who have different opinions about the horror genre and video games as a whole, but we hope they will also consider the opinions of the adult gamers for whom this product is intended. We believe all products should be rated to allow the public to make informed choices about the media and art they wish to consume. The stories in modern video games are as diverse as the stories in books, film and television. The adult consumers who would play this game fully understand that it is fictional interactive entertainment and nothing more."

Nah, I just think the industry needs to be maturer and these games ain't helping. I'm tired of fanboyism(also)

Yet developing a highly twisted, dark game with genuine adult content is it maturing? For years we just get 'generic shooting game' and just accept it.

This is essentially a playable version of your favourite horror films - are they also immature?

I don't have favourite horror films cos I don't like horror films. Anyways these aren't horror games or films (they are not scary) they're twisted which make them immature.

What they should do with all games of this nature is make you sign something saying that the company is not responsible for any negative effects that may occur. Tedious, but it'd probably reduce the ammount of lawsuits.....maybe.

How is this game any different in content than films like Saw and Hostel, which were both approved by the BBFC?
Manhunt has this whole stupid thing where it was blamed for a kids murder because the other murderer played manhunt and used a hammer.
But in all honesty, if a kid is twisted enough to murder someone it's down to bad parenting, kids should know right from wrong.

The media sensationalised that manhunt was to blame and then everyone pointed the finger, it's just natural that a load of idiots follow the view that it was down to the video game. Hence why the second one is getting so much stick.

The BBFC is a ******* joke (Excuse the swearing, this has just made me sooo angry)

The game was "reviewed" by 3 people..

One of them was 71, the others were in their 50's or there abouts.

HOW THE HECK IS A 71 YEAR OLD IN ANY WAY ABLE TO SAY HOW A FORM OF ELECTRONIC ENTERTAINMENT HE HAS NO UNDERSTANDING OF EFFECT TODAYS OVER 18's?

YES, OVER 18's.

IF ANYONE UNDER THAT AGE PLAYS IT, SUE THE PARENTS OR THE SHOPS, ITS NOT THE DEVELOPERS.

SO MUCH FOR LIVING IN A DEMOCORACY.

APPARENTLY VIDEO GAMES ARE NOT BANNED IN AMERICA, THEY SIMPLY GET AN R RATING.. SOME SHOPS DONT SELL R RATED STUFF, BUT IT CAN STILL BE BOUGHT.

Sorry for shouting :(

OH WELL

IMPORT FOR THE WIN - WOO HOO
