wii memory

hi

Does a wii take any SD memory card or do you have to get an SD "gaming" card - I think the latter is just some marketing rubbish to charge twice the price!

Anything as long as it's <2Gb and formatted to FAT IIRC.

I'm sure there will be a few brands that don't work, but chances are any you get will

Yeah, I've used a few different brands and they've all worked... definitely not worth getting a "gaming" SD card.

My 2 gig card works fine anyway, and yeah, it's just a standard card, nowt special.

My card doubles as my camera's memory too, so it has a ton of pictures on there. I've also backed up most of my save files and VC games, as I'm running out of space. Plus a bunch of mp3s are still kicking about on it from playing Excite Truck. Lastly there's a collection of homebrew channel "stuff".

You can even use Micro SD cards with a micro -> SD convertor. I tested this with a 2Gb Micro SD card.
