wii networking?

Hi all

I am thinking of buying a Wii in the next couple of days.

I would like to know what kind of network/internet service I can get?

Gaming online?

Other online services (like the PS3)

I will be connection wirelessly using a Linksys WRT54G router, which is WEP security enabled? How hard to get onto the WEP security network is it?

The Wii supports WEP and WPA. WEP is horrible insecure, so use WPA if you're worried about security.

Online gaming isn't as common on Wii titles. It isn't like the PS3/360 where being online is half of the point. Obviously there is no real down side to have the Wii online but its not like Live / PSN.

WEP might be rather insecure but it will do. Is there are reason your router is not in WPA mode? But setup on the Wii isn't too hard at all.

Hopefully 2008 should bring some more online games to the Wii, Mario Kart must be online compatible, Super Smash Bros too I hope.

Online sure needs to be Nintendo's focus. The current system is just a little crude by modern standards.
