Wii official component cable - Question

How far apart can you have the video plugs from the audio plugs? If someone who has an official Wii component cable could answer this for me I'd be really grateful.

I've had one on order for ages and the company have sent me one of their unofficial ones by mistake. I'm going to return it cos the 3 video plugs can only be pulled about 12 inches away from the audio plugs. Great design

Is the official one any better? The inputs on my tv is further than 12 inches away from my amp unsurprisingly.

It's no better with the official one, you could probably get the cables around 25cm apart at a push as each cable (where they become separate) is around 12.5cm long.

So, what about picture quality between the Official and and 'own brand' components?
Do they vary at all or is it equal?

Just wanted to know because the same thing has happened to me and Im wondering if its worth holding out a bit longer for officail cables over the shop ones

the exact same thing has happened to me too. I got an email from them today saying that it was a mistake but I suspect that they got sick of waiting for the official cables and sent everyone their own make.

I'm not sure what to make of it, I usually like to use the official stuff, but if there is no difference then I might as well just keep these ones I'd be interested to know if anyone knows if the official cables are supposed to be better.

For £10 it's alright. I can't imagine the official one is loads better. At least now my Wii can't interfere with the aspect auto switching on sky any more. To be honest I was happy with the quality of composite on this tv, and normally I'm obsessive about stuff like this.
