Haha....I think it is you who is taking things a little too seriously.

Keep on trying. Eventually you'll hit a one-liner post that's actually witty.

EDIT: Tired and tetchy and overly harsh, my apologies.

funny thing is i remember when the DS came out and it was called a gimmick using the stylus and how it won't become successfull and the games look rubbish compared to the PSP. Game developers are jumping ship, cancelling games or doing cross platform, also a lot game developers have said that the xbox360 is their priority console in developing their games on due to the ease of tools available for programming and the way the architecture is used compared the the PS3, so it'll be the PS3 that'll get the port which may not be any better or even worse (THP8 + COD3 are fine examples)

Sony's past track record can not be taken as a cert to how things will pan out for the PS3. Market experts certainly dont think the PS3 will run away with it anyways.

The Ps2 for example was already established, a cheaper machine and had more games than the Xbox plus a lot of its top games were only available exclusively on the playstation.

This is not the case this time around and currently you could argue that in fact the X360 has the widest range of games, including many good exclusives or indeed Live Only options for some cross platform titles. Microsoft can also now like Sony did with the PS2 undercut the price of the rival format.

So really what you have is a rival platform that has more going for it, games every bit as good if not better and a vastly superior online service, oh and its all cheaper too.

PS3 still going to domintate, not in my mind its not.
What happened the PSP? technically superior, lush and feature packed, ah just the marketing, price and range of games held it back but dont blame Sony for that... Really i was shocked at how poor and such a mess they have made with the PSP, looked like a winner...

If i was a betting man, in 3 years time...

X360
PS3

It's amazing how many people have gone business minded this time around in the console releases.

Personally I'm consumer minded. And will be purchasing which ever makes me happy, Not the console selling the most world wide.

Personally... I want a Wii for Zelda, A PS3 for MGS4 and FF13, aswell as God of war 2 and many others. And I'd like a 360 to play current games like Gears of War and Future games like Fable 2.

So considering that list, I'm thinking a 360 will be my next purchase due to the fact it's a hands on now console. I'll probably buy a PS3 next year either on release or just after. And i'll probably buy a second hand Wii in a year's time when they are going cheap...er. :)

Can't see myself purchasing a PS3, looks like a donkey atm :(

The last 2 months I'm finally starting to enjoy my 360, and have a Wii coming on launch day and really like the look of what's on offer :)

I'm going to live for Wii sports & Zelda over Xmas :D

Yeah who cares who's winning, every man and his dog knows that once the PS3 is in full swing its going to take the lead by a huge, huge margin and trounce everything in the sales, the capability has nothing to do with it, its the name PLAYSTATION, thats what will win it the name alone, the PS1 was huge, the PS2 was huge, the PS3 could be utter crap, but no one cares as its called a PLAYSTATION, as long as its called that it will wipe everything out.:)
really? then where are atari. Bigger they are harder they fall, seriously, im willing to bet for example that apple wont be top of the ipod market area in 10 years no one can stay at the top forever

I've just come back from the USA where there was a news item on the popularity of the Wii V's the PS3 in the USA.

It would appear that the Wii is in fact proving more popular for a number of reasons:

a) The lack of availability of the PS3 is driving people to purchase a Wii (or a 360) rather than go through the hassle of waiting for new stock.

b) The controller is proving a big hit with the kids, and a lot of adults, and they are enjoying the feel of being truly in the game.

c) The price of the PS3 compared to the price of the Wii and the 360.

Could Sony be dropping to third place in this round of the console wars??? :D

I live in the states and really there is no truth to what you are saying. The PS3 is in more demand than the Wii, the Wii has sold more cos more are availible. I'm lucky to have both, well actually a few of both, my ps3's are much more in demand on ebay. I'm also going to sell my final wii and buy a X360.. as much as I admire Nintendo for their innovative controller, I personally can't stand the damn thing. Plus the gfx are too poor to be classed as next gen. And Nintendo's complete lack of vision when it comes to HD has really annoyed me. I'm taking my money and running off to M$ !!!! but my PS3 will be the main man in town for me. For $600 what you are getting is unbelievable. to get a similar rig up and running with a X360 I'd have to spend $200 more and deal with a ugly looking HD-DVD slapped on the side.
