Don't have a clue about the SD side of things.

Would this be a good buy?

Wait until it is out first. It has some on built memory anyway (512mb IIRC) and if you want more, you can use SD cards.

According to Official Nintendo Mag you won't need any more for a while unless you buy the entire release list. Plus i think GC memory cards work too? :confused:

Well I won't be getting 'much' of the back catalogue, maybe something like the Zelda series at the most, but on average how big are those in terms of memory anyway? 64Mb?

SuperNES games tended to be around the 32-48Mb (some went to 64Mb), or to put it another way about 4-8MB each, a lot were smaller (I think <2MB).

Nes games were even smaller.
