wii sensor bar distance

Hello all,

I set-up my wii on a PC desk the other day so I'm sat quite close and the wiimote didn't seem to work correctly.

Has anybody else had any similar issues? Do you need to be a certain distance away from the sensor?

I find it only works over a couple of feet away, 6-7 is probably ideal.

You should be at least 1m (3ft) away from the sensor bar for it to work correctly.

It's not too good if you're too close. Keep away from bright sunshine too. The control goes crazy.

Does it? Heh, not that there's much chance of that happening at the moment... more likely to be affected by snow than sunshine.

You can fiddle with a "sensitivity" option in the menus which affects the distance the remote will work from. I know it lets you sit further away than the norm if needed, but I can't remember if it'll go any lower to let you sit closer. Worth a look though.

Yes, it's at 3/5 by default.
