Wii Shop Channel

Well, I finally got my Wii connected to my wireless network yesterday and updated the system software. I've accepted the agreement, turned on Wii Connect 24 etc... click "start" on the shop channel only for it to just sit there on the screen saying "connecting. Please wait...". It has been on this screen for about 20 minutes now and it doesn't seem to be budging.

I tried the forecast channel before and that worked straight away. :confused:

Could anyone offer any help please.

You tried the internet channel just to make sure it's working?

I thought you only got the internet channel after downloading the browser from the shop channel?

Only channels I have are: Game, Mii, Photo, Shop, Forecast and news.

I tested the wireless connection before trying the forecast channel and it connected fine.

Oh yeah, my mistake, I thought it was part of the update.

Do as Mr.Orb suggests and try running an update.

It says my Wii is fully updated when I attempt one. I think the firmware version on my Wii is 2.0E (I'll have to double check), is that the latest one?

So the forecast channel works fine? Hmm... i am out of ideas... try contacting Nintendo directly, could be a problem with the Wii.

My shop channel wouldn't load yesterday, until late at night. Internet and Forecast channels were fine, so I put it down to system maintenance.

That fills me with a bit of hope. Just had a look round the net and it seems that quite a few people seem to have problems connecting during the day. I'll attempt to connect sometime tonight and hope it works.

It's been the only time I've encountered it, so not too bad. Worked fine this morning.

I changed the wireless channel from 6 to 11 and it worked straight away.

was gonna suggest this. i did the same thing as soon as i got my wii because id heard of many problems concerning the wireless channel
