Are there any good sword fighting games out there for the Wii?
I'd love to see either a Jedi knight or RPG style game where you get to use the controller as a sword/lightsabre or similar.
Is there anything good out there that you guys would recommend?

Red Steel is all we have so far. The only other sword swishing related game I can think of on the horizon is Dragon Quest Swords.. and well.. Red Steel 2? Oh theres Bleach in Japan which looks like a regular fighter 'cept with some wavy remote-ness.

Personally I'm waiting for a pirates game with the old swashbuckling etc.

Using the wii mote to poke someone on the plank would be cool. In fact get a vision style camera and put your faces on the chars with eye patches etc.

Winner!!!

Prince of Persia? This impressive video just comes out: http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/8698
Looks okay... but I think the OP is after a game where you're really in control of the sword (rather than waving your wiimote up and down to cause the character to do a move).

I'm not sure how sensitive the accelerometers are in the wiimote, so don't know how feasible such a thing would be. It'd be great if such a game does emerge!

The unfortunate thing about the Wii is that Nintendo apparently don't like giving dev kits to just anybody. Which means we're extremely unlikely to see tech demos for this kind of thing (or indeed unlikely to be able to have a go at it ourselves).

On the other hand, the fortunate thing about the wiimote is that it uses Bluetooth so it should be relatively easy to connect it up to a PC and have games on there that can use it...

already been done - there's a youtube vid of a guy playing HL2

Prince of Persia looks alright but I get the feeling the controls are just bolted onto an existing game - which doesn't necessarily mean it's doomed but it's not a good sign.

Having just watched the guys on Broken Pixels play Red Steel it's reinforced my decision to leave it well alone.

I'm hoping Square resurect Bushido Blade, that would be the best thing ever.
