Went for a drink with an old friend last night. He was telling me how a few weeks ago on his son's 6th birthday on a saturday he was about to put a new wii game on, when he saw an empty shelf where the wii was.
His mrs knew nothing about it, and after realising there was no wind up involved, they called the police, who came and fingerprinted etc.
What was weird is that they could not see how the burglars had gotten in, no visible signs of entry AND they took absolutely NOTHING else but the wii, all the leads etc and games!!
The copper said that in the past 2 months he'd been called out to 9 such incidents, all involving stolen wii's.
2 weeks later my mate can't open his kitchen window. So he goes outside; its then he realises that the window was crowbarred open and this is obviously how the thieves got in. BUT, the cheeky ******* would have had to climb in through that window, onto the sink/desktop, nick the wii, wipe up after themselves and close and lock the window behind them.....which is exactly what they did, without leaving any disturbance or trace of evidence.
My mate was waiting for the insurance to come through, but of course wii's are like rocking horse poo again....
...Happy ending though, his brother found and reserved one in our No Competitors!, which he picked up last week, so his son can now play his game :)

it was a friends house, and they prized open the kitchen window. Enough to get in and out, then close it and make it look like nothing was wrong.
As it happens he has to have a whole new window cos its so damaged.
