WII U technical question

Hello everyone,

Santaclaus is going to be giving my son a Wii U for Christmas and I was hoping you might be able to advise on the following question.

Is it possible for the WII U to be connected to the TV via HDMI and then for the sound to be connected to my all in one bluray surround sound system?

The problem I have is that the surround sound system only has two HDMI inputs which currently are taken by my Sky Q & Popcorn hour. I don't really want to go down the splitter route as I have always had problems with them.

Yes, it seems you can do it:

You'll just need to get a Wii AV or component cable to plug in and you'll only get the red/white RCA jacks that way.

Does your TV happen to have optical out? That'd be my first port of call.

It can be done, as I do it with mine Use the AV/component cable as mentioned above. You have to go into the settings to enable it.
