Wii update renders Freeloader useless

According to Joystiq the new update for the Wii kills the Freeloader - damn... I just received one today and Donkey Konga 2 and Karaoke Revolution are on their way from the States.

Damn you, Nintendo... all I wanted to do was play games I've bought. I'm almost tempted to consider a hardware alternative

The update has also been reported to kill some hardware alternatives or so I have read.

It's a bit dissapointing that I can't play ntsc gamecube games on my wii if I want - some old gamecube games aren't that easily available in pal format (due to limited quanties being made & sudden bursts of popularity in some old games) which may now end up limiting how much some people can enjoy their wii - especially given the current lack of choice for wii games, plus the fact that retro-ish games can be pretty fun.
