Afternoon!
I bought Zelda on the Wii for the missus, but we've hit a snag making it run today.
When running the game we are immediately presented with a black screen, with no sound or image. The Wiimote turns itself off, and you have to hard reset the machine. I'm assuming something is going pear-shaped during the hand off from the OS to the game.
Possibly related - we are running the second-to-last version of the Wii software, version 4.3E. I know there is a 4.3U which gives you access to the store etc, but when we try to update to that we get an error. Googling brings up all the usual solutions of changing WiFI settings etc. No luck.
Is there no way to manually update to the latest version in case that is causing the issue? Doing a factory reset of the machine and trying again has the game disc offer to update the firmware which it does. That then brings us back to the same situation - 4.3E, no U.
Any ideas, or any more info needed?
