Starting to annoy me and there must be some way to do it. How can i swap around the "1" and "2" status of my Wiimotes? I thought turning it off and taking batteries out, then turning it on and just the one controller would work but it didnt. Reason been is the D-pad on one controller is slightly stiffer. Does it not seem stupid you cant get into a game without controller one?

I thought what ever wiimote you used to turn on the Wii defaulted as controller 1. Thats what happens on mine.

Ditto.

The one that turns the Wii on is always the one that gets the #1 status.

Didnt work for me. Turned Wii of by mains and took batteries out of controller, put batteries in the one i wanted to be "1" and turned it on, the "2" light turned on.

Ditto - I know it works 'cos I used alternate controller last night to let 1st controller get some charge. I can't remember if you have to pair the remote with the console on Wii....If you can it might be worth a reset?

Mine too every time without fail. Turn the Wii on from the remote not the console, if you turn on from the console whichever mote you hit A on first becomes player 1.

wait cant you change it with the unit on? im sure you can change the assigned number. try hitting the home button then tapping A on the wii controller icon. thats where you adjust the wiimote speaker volume. can you do it there?

id try myself but ive no spare batteries lol

At last, thanks :)

Shame there's not a thanking system, as that's a top tip. The missus has a pink silicon sleeve over 'her' remote (as it's comfy, apparently...) which I detest as it makes the A button recessed practically. Does my head in when it switches mine to hers.
