Are these likly to be avaliable in the shops this xmas? Either way whats the best way of going about getting one?

Thanks

Ive picked up 3 online in the last week so you can get them if you try, and I believe they will continue to be hard to find both online on the high street. Your best chance is to keep an eye on a few dedicated websites or forums that track stock.

If people keep paying stupid amounts on ebay, people will keep profiteering.

Despite the media reports, I don't think it's going to be as bad as last year, but if you're wanting one, I'd certainly suggest looking now.

As for the best way, the top right of IE should help, or try this link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shopping

You fail at humour.

They are pretty impossible to get hold of at the moment, infact, they're going for 156% of rrp on a certain auction site.

Wasn't trying to be funny at all.

1) We can't mention competitors, so I suggested OCUK
2) Going into stores and enquiring about stock and/or ordering/reserving is another option.

Don't be quick to judge next time.

Everyones cashing in on the Wii shortages :( Where's people Christmas spirit?

Sorry ~J~ I thought you were telling him to close his browser :p

People where I work have resorted to importing them from the continent. The Beeb's website has an interview with a Nintendo person saying that any European console will be covered by the warranty within the UK, so there's no issues there (not sure if they'd know if it was originally bought in Germany or France in any case). However, nearer Xmas I expect even this route to have dried up as more and more people are becoming aware of it.

@Spamalot - if you're in Uni now, then there are 2 places (one in Swansea, one in Llanelli) that have a few in stock. Obviously I'm not gonna mention names, but I'm sure you'll be ok if you reserved in the next couple of days.

Wicked, thanks mate. Will PM you.

Been hunting for one for a while with no luck, then walked into Wal-mart yesterday and nabbed one of three they had just got an hour before for $250 bucks...the kids will be well chuffed(when they can get it away me and the wife):D

Really? Oooh *gets tempted but shouldn't* :D

Was the fact the Wii was cheaper than other next gen consoles not supposed to be a major selling point?

The German branch of a popular internet shop has them in stock at £173.99.

Look hard enough and there is a guide to buying from the site if you dont speak german.

As far as I can tell that site has stopped sending to the UK, other forums are saying reason is that unscrupulous people were buying up all there stock at 248.89 euros and then re-selling over here for nearly double that :(
I wanted to buy one for my neice and nephew for christmas but cannot get past the address screen at checkout now....

I'm amazed that the prices have gone up so high with the shortages - It's amazing really - it is now about double the RRP !

Am so glad I got one last year just after christmas ...

im not surpised at all, i was saying to my wife a couple of months ago that they were going to be in short supply. i didnt have the money to buy them when i could though, unlike last year :D
