I really enjoyed the 10 hour trial and was a bit gutted when my time ran out as I generally refuse to buy games at £70 so thought I would have to wait a few months to play again.

As the game came out on Friday I thought I would search the auction sites to see if anyone didn't gel with it and was selling it on cheaply. I got lucky and someone had a "buy it now" at £42 on the xbox version with an unused preorder bonus code not bad since the game is 3 days old.

I thought I would start a thread for the game - if your playing or have any tips let me know.

I hope the game is a success and the devs can resolve some of the performance issues some people are having.

I believe a patch is out this week to help with some known issues from the trial. Personally for me on xbox series x the game ran extremely well in performance mode but the graphics were of low quality, the gameplay was fantastic though making me want the game now.

A few youtubers have some good guide and tips videos rurikhan, fightincowboy and arekkz are my recommendations.

The reddit page for the game has all the details of what the patch this week improves.

I know EA get bad press as developers but this is a Koei Tecmo developed game with EA as the publisher.

It’s getting review bombed on Stram I see but from what I’ve read it’s a decent Monhun clone which improves some aspects of those games. Definitely intrigued but not sure I am ready for something like that atm.

I know what you mean with Rise releasing last month, but the 10hr trial sold me on the gameplay - being able to create permanent structures like ziplines and wind tunnels really resonated with me. I think it's a pretty niche game though so I would expect price cuts fairly quickly.

My 2nd hand copy arrived yesterday and the preorder bonus codes worked.

It let me continue from my trial save which was good. I was struggling a bit for the first couple of hours until I got the controls down again - I cannot count the number of times I pressed jump instead of slide, I was annoying myself. I managed to find a particularly mean chicken boss which was kicking my a@#e. I may have to jump into multiplayer to watch other people's stats.
