So maybe a daft question, Obviously they will to a certain extent but does anyone think the 3900X will go down in price much (especially on the used market) when the 4000 series launch?

How did it go when 3rd gen come out did prices of 2nd get drop much?.. I wasn't following much back then.
i Eventually plan to upgrade to a 3900X but not at current prices.

The current 3900X prices are pretty reasonable.

It seems most of the 300-400 series boards won’t see support for the 4000 chips, and those that do will have limited features. Because of this I can’t see much, if any price reduction on 3000 chips.

I think the frustration in not being able to buy a RTX 3000 video card could drive up demand for highend CPU’s.
