Will 73 degrees kill an old Duron?

My boys PC started to reboot over and over, Windows would get past login and die with a blue screen. After half an hour of this he decided to tell me. I went into BIOS and CPU temp was 73. Obviously I just killed the power and left it to cool. It had a stock cooler and fan BUT as it was a recycled one of mine I'd taken of the thermal pad and it had some copper based thermal interface on it
Its a Duron spitfire 950 mhz on an Epox 8kta2.

Will it work again?
Is there anything I can do to improve it's chances?
Any input appreciated.
Cheers

Lol it will be fine, just clean out all the crud from the HSF, clean off the old thermal goo and slap some new stuff on.

Is the fan still working even?

Aslong as it didn't run at 85+C for any sustained length of time, it should work fine (at the proper temps)...
