I've had this card lying around for ages and thought I'd make some use of it. Ive also got a 450w matx psu on the way which should just about give enough power.

I'll tidy the edges up, and one of my cuts is slightly off, but it's in! The black front of the case has around 5mm of space so as you can see the card just touches it.

Next step is getting my H50 system to fit...

I know this was fairly pointless, but meh :D

I wish I owned a dremel, it would've been so much easier :( :p

But you're right, it was a little destructive, but it's not like I'm going to sell the thing, and I don't have any firm emotional attachment to it so it had to happen!

As for faster shorter card, yes, but I had this one here and doubt (sort of hope, now) I could've got a shorter faster one without spending money/time. Plus, this one is bigger, which means it's better, obviously:p.

The above makes me sound like I think I did the best possible thing, which I know I didn't:p It was just the challenge/awesomeness which made me do it!

Specs are -

GTX 280
E8400 running on a corsair H50 (should clock to 3.8ghz)
4GB Dominator ram
Western Digital 320gb blue hdd
450w silverstone psu.

It'll be used for gaming mainly, specifically spilt screen multiplayer with my friends. Will be an ok beast considering its all stuff I had lying around!

It'll be finished tonight so I'll post up some final pics.

Well it's all up and running (am posting off it now). I'll stick some pictures up in a bit, but it is a little cramped! Had to be a bit inventive with the HDD...

Ideallly I'd sell this mobo for one without the built-in gpu, as it's just warm and pointless as it is, but that'll have to wait for a bit.

My only problem at the moment is audio over hdmi.

I've got a dvi to hdmi lead, which works fine for video, but I get no audio. I've connected from the s/pdif header on the motherboard to the audio input on the gtx280 using a homemade lead as I couldn't find the one that came in the box. The header is 4pin, but the GTX only has 2 pins in so I've used the two pins 'SPDIF out' and 'ground' from the header.

Wont work tho:( I've tried it both ways round, I've updated the drivers on the motherboard and selected 'hdmi hdtv with audio' on the Nvideo control panel, and S/PDIF Digital Audio on windows 7 as the audio output device.

Has anyone got any ideas about what I am doing wrong? The most I've had is a loud digital hissing sound on the speakers.
