Will a 2nd radiator worth it?

Looking at the present cooling performance of my system, i'm not sure if it's worth it or not. This is approximately the load temperatures that i get with an EX240 rad in the top of my 690 II with 2 fans on pull.

This is the present layout of my loop.

If it is worthwhile, I've been looking at my options regarding the rad positions and think i might be able to keep all 6 hard drives. The enermax fan controller came with drive rails that allow a hard drive to be fitted behind it. I could then add a 2x 5.25" backplane that gives me 3 drives up top too meaning i could loose the 4 from the bays below and fit another 240/280mm rad. Problem then is finding somewhere to put the pump/res. The alternatives would be to fit a 120/140 in the bottom leaving space for the res/pump or to leave the drives alone and try and squeeze a 120 on the back above the expansion slots.

I've seen these systems that are good examples of what could be fitted.

The typical twin 240mm system. Probably the best option, but nowhere to put the pump/res. A bay res would be out as i will have used all the 5.25" bays to empty the bottom of the case to fit the rad. There might be space by a whisker on top of the psu by the sound card.

A thick 120 in the back with the ports at the bottom. Space around the cpu socket will end up quite tight, making tube routing a tad difficult. I imagine the cost in angle fittings might be a bit prohibitive.

A thinner 120 rad with the ports at the top. Probably close on impossible without finding the right angle fitting for the port closest to the mobo.

You've got case openings for tubing at the top rear, so why not mount the thick 120 outside with the ports at the top?

Those ports don't seem to line up with the radiator barbs. The ports are closer together than the barbs. (at least with an xspc rad) Would be a neat solution if there is a rad that has barbs in the right positions.

Although not with the CM690 II I had an external 360 rad attached to the underside of my desk.

edit: that is another option for you...

Just to note, adding any sort of radiator to where your only air intake is will more than likely only increase temps.

I found this on my 800D. I run a 360 at the top, and bought an extra 140. With the 140 at my intake, temps actually rose, as you heat all the air in the case from the heat removal on that first rad. Moved it to the outside of my rear fan and its much better!

Whichever way I would be going, the radiator would have fans blowing air out of the case. The intakes are the front fan and 2 fans in the side. The back and the 2 top fans exhaust.

Don't really want to go nuts with external radiators as I'd rather keep the case reasonably portable.

EDIT:

This would be fine:

Whereas this (or similar) is a bit too extreme:

Addicted. please could you post a pic as I'm getting a 800D and not sure about Rad placement apart from a 360 up top, I did want to add a 140 as well.

Thanks in advance.

Having looked into the 800D as i've ordered one myself this week, you can put a 140 on the back of the case at the exhaust behind the mobo or on the bottom where the intake from the lower section is. It was easy enough to find some pictures on google for those setups.

Presuming they're all the same size, you're going to end up with negative relative pressure in the case which isn't ideal - your rad fans will have to work harder and you'll also hoover up dust into the case.

2x 120mm & 1x 140mm intake & 3x 120mm exhaust at the moment. (will be changing one of the 120mm intake fans for a 140mm at some point)

I keep the case free of dust by cleaning it out once a month.
