Purely hypothetical question here.
I play at 1440p and am considering a new GPU (I've still got an R9 290) and I'm looking at 1080s. Not only for now, but future proofing too. Thing is, this "future" might not happen for years because, quite frankly, I love my current monitor.
BUT!
Will a 1080 be gimped at 1440p or 1080p? I know a 1070 makes more sense, but this is purely a hypothetical question out of curiosity than anything else.
