Hi, as in title really.

Currently have a 8800gts and am looking to upgrade, there is about 3 cm between the end of the card and the drive caddy.

Anyone able to shed any light on this?

Cheers

Do you have an original Aurora or the 570?

I have a 260 in my Aurora 570 right now; fits with about 5cm to spare. Took a 4870X2 fine as well.

Yeah its the origional Aurora mate, the 570 has quite a bit more room if im correct?

My 8800gts is 230mm with 30mm spare so it wont take the gtx 260 :(

Been googling lots and have come down to 2 options:

1. New case
2. Remove the drive caddy and mount my hdds in 5.25" drive bays with these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-051-AK

Not really sure what to do. I like the case and i have 3 free 5.25" bays.
But its extra work and i dont have a dremel lol

Hmmm, shame - I thought the 570 was just the same chassis with a few different panels.

Have you looked at the HD4870 or HD4890? They're a few CM shorter than the 260 - 242mm according to here.

Although admittedly you'll have to plug in two PCI-E connectors in that space, as the 48xx cards don't have them on the side.

EDIT: Not if you buy a Gainward ATI Radeon HD 4870 "Golden Sample", which due to the non-reference design, has the sockets on the side :)

Yeah, not sure if i want to go the ati route, that golden sample is a bit more than i was looking to spend too.
Was looking around £200 mark as i want to get 4gig of ram too.

Edit: Just ordered a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 and 4 gig of kingston ram, which came to £195. Stoked :)
