Hi, im looking into getting a netbook.

The screen size does not matter as my question is. I will want to plug it into the TV via the VGA port that most netbooks have.
This will be to surf the internet but also to watch things like iPlayer & 4OD.

Will a netbook be able to do this? Also what resolution does the VGA port go up to please?

If anyone can recommend one as well, obviously the cheaper the better and it has to be XP please.

My Acer Aspire one will run high quality iplayer on my 1440x900 screen ok its gets hot but its ok.

I have a 901 (20GB - wiped off the Linux, bunged on XP Pro) and it is a mighty good piece of kit (horses for courses, and all that....)

No troubles with iPlayer on it, or Slingbox streams.....but I have not tried connecting it up via VGA, so cannot vouch for the performance. That said, I doubt that it wil be an issue ?

Most netbooks are alomst the exact same spec just different designs (not all)
