Can anyone confirm if a normal wired XBOX360 controller will work on PC? IIRC they are standard USB connection based so should work or do I need to get one specifically that says for Windows? Game shops are going to be closed when I leave work tonight but Tesco ha the wired in for £21 so would like to make use of this if it will work!

Cheers :)

If you are running Windows Vista then it should just be plug and play, if you are running XP, then you will need to install a driver which you can download from the Microsoft website.

Although if you do have Vista, I would recommend installing the drivers anyway, mine went weird sometimes without the drivers installed.

Many thanks :)

Tonight I will finally be able to complete a lap on Grid without spinning out every corner yay!

Dunno... I've got the wired one. However, the cable is so long it's a real pain. I guess console players sit on the sofa and therefore need a 20-foot long cable to reach their XBox sat underneath the telly. But when I'm playing on my PC I tend to sit fairly close to the monitor, so the slack cable runs all over my desk, around the chair, over my knees, around the base unit a couple of times, back over the desk and is finally plugged in.

I wish MS would release a PC-specific version with a shorter cable.

the wireless one wont work with the play and charge cable. the cable is there only to charge the controller, nothing more. no data is passed down it

if you want to use a wireless controller ont eh PC you need one of the wireless adapters that cost about £12 :)

mine came today

Anyone know if the 360 steering Wheel will work with the wireless receiver?

Also keep in mind if your going to use your existing 360 controller with the wireless receiver you will have to re-sync it every time you swap from PC to 360 and back again.
