They're in the middle of the screen and right in the way on photoshop and it's really bothering me. I don't understand how I look at all my friends screens and they have none. Yet every time I order something with LCD it has them :( All I want Acer to do is replace it with a screen that has no defects, test it for a few days and then send it back to me.

They should replace it, Might be a good idea to see what their dead pixel policy is, I know with dell it has to be a number of pixels before they would replace it and in the middle of the screen.

Do I send it back to overclockers RMA or Acer themselves? Cause if they don't then I just want a full refund cause I can't live with them. As soon as I see them, it is all I focus on and I just don't wanna use the monitor again.

Hi there, this site is what I found from a quick google.

One of the things it says is:

The Limited Warranty does not extend to minor defects of LCD displays occurring in Products equipped with LCD display technology provided that there shall not be more than six (6) defective pixels per million pixels on a given LCD Display, and provided further that, if the display panel is divided into nine (9) equal rectangular areas, there shall be one defective pixel in the central area of the display.

The green Area in the middle is the central area of the display with no more then one defective pixel.

From my reading of that page, your two dead central pixels exceeds the amount they allow in the middle of the screen (one), so you should be able to get a replacement through acer - so long as the pixels are within the "green box" (see the link).

Is ghosting common with LCD? This is my first LCD desktop monitor and I get ghosting while playing CS :\

It cerainly occurs on some models as the response time is not nearly as quick as a CRT. What particular model do you have, and is the ghosting apparent in any other games/applications?

Can I just get a full refund? I'm not happy with it. I can't play games without seeing the ghosting :\ Problem is you can't even take screenshots of it because it doesn't appear in printscreen.

*shudders*

Yea, that doesn't look the best monitor for your needs.

If you do get a refund I would suggest you go for one of the 120Hz monitors like this, many people say these are as close as you can get to a CRT.

However, if you want some nice colours, I find this e-IPS screen is lovely. Its not 120Hz like the above viewsonic, but it can be set to 75Hz with a bit of tweaking and I haven't noticed any ghosting on mine.

Its probably best you contact the retailer ASAP and see what your options are. How long has it been since you ordered it?
