Hi all,

I've an old 180gb IDE drive which I used in a succession of TERRIBLE external caddies at uni.

I'm getting a new case and I know my mobo can accomodate the drive but will having it in the system as a non-boot file dump only back up drive compromise the speed of the system as a whole?

Thanks in advance! :)

Only when transfering data to that drive as its a bit slower. Your C drive needs to be fast.
