Will all these components fit?

I always get nervous buying a new build, could someone please tell me if these components will fit and work well together, and also what CPU cooler they would recommend?

We have a good spare graphics card lying around which we'll be using, and also a spare SSD.

This computer will be used as a server in our office, but also will have games being played on it every now and then :)

Many thanks!

Bit of a mish mash there lad. Mini ItX Board in a ATX case, with a CPU that can be overclocked, on a motherboard that can't overclock. A PSU that is way over specced.

What is the Rig for? What GPU have you got?

You gonna be overclocking at all?

Whats the budget?

It's £40 less, mainly because of the lower wattage psu. 750w is just overkill and having a lower wattage will give you better efficiency if running it 24/7. It should still cope with a gpu as long as it isn't a power hog. Also another half TB on the hard drive which is also a green drive.

I would atleast go with a 500w psu.

Green drives are slower than stanard, so I wouldn't get one.

That msi motherboard is a great price.

I chose the green drive because he said it would be in a server. Just though that it would help save power. But with it being £40 lower than the original post you could fix all of them

Graphics card is Radeon HD 6570 fanless (PCI express)

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions! Will post my new picks shortly

Had a rethink with my brother and took your suggestions onboard, this computer will be mainly used as a server to test multiplayer on. It needs a good CPU and lots of ram. Power wise we're in a serviced office so not too worried about power efficiency. Also this server is going to be used for testing, it won't be used much but every now and then used a lot. Probably will be switching it off for 14 hours of the day or so. We wont be overclocking it either.

Could people tell me what they think of this build now?

Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail (£240)
MSI Z77A-G43 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard (£80)
Avexir Blitz Series 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Quad Channel Kit (AVD3U16001008G-4GI) (£130)
BeQuiet Dark Power Pro P10 750W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply (£150)
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) (£60)
Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case with Fan Controller - Black (£47)
Graphics card is Radeon HD 6570 fanless (PCI express) (Already owned)
64GB SSD (already owned)

Total: £720

I'm not sure if I've picked the right memory, ideally we'd like 32gb.

Could someone please recommend me a quiet and good CPU cooler?

Once again, PSU overspecced. This may be enough, if not, 2 sets of the RAM instead of one although wait for yet more advice, others may spec better builds for cheaper

As for cooler the arctic 7 pro seems like a good choice although, once again, wait for more advice

Thanks for tips! Nearly ready to order, I like your picks. My only questions are:

What ram should we buy if we want 32gb
What CPU cooler? (Is Hardeep's suggestion of artic 7 pro a good fit?)

Thanks for all the help so far, appreciate it a lot!

I've thought that on previous builds and always regretted it, they are very noisy. That's also partly why I overspec'd PSU, we favour quiet components.

8gb might not be enough, we're writing our own multiplayer online game and are going to be using it to test with as a server. 32gb is cheap, for the sake of another £50 or so might as well just get 32gb worth and not have to worry about it ever limiting our development.

It's not a MMORPG. We run a game development related company, and are spending a month seeing if we can come up with a proof of concept. We've had a tiring year, and are doing this for fun as well.

At the end of the month we will evaluate our progress and the concept, if it's fun we might go into full production of it (and have money to spend on it as well).

Sorry for bump, is this build OK?

I just need to know what RAM to get for 32gb, and also what CPU cooler people would recommend.

Would love to order this soon :)
