Just curious to see if anyone has heard if ATI are going to get into 3d gaming, as i was thinking a monitor upgrade sometime soon and was wondering if its worth the extra for the 120hz monitors over the 60hz ones

so theres still a noticible difference between the two on non 3d games and stuff:), would in game tearing occur less with a 120hz than a 60hz

yes, unless you were rendering over 120 frames per second and not applying vertical sync, there would be absolutely no screen tearing on a quality 120hz monitor.

Also with 120Hz you can use vsync with much less of a problem - theres nothing like the laggy feel you get with vsync at 60Hz.

Does anyone know if ATI are going to get into 3d gaming?

I'm due an upgrade soon, and at I'd like to go 3D at some stage theat only leaves the green team, but ATI are clearly the better option (at the mo.) ATI and 3D would be great...

You can get 3D gaming on any GPU, it doesn't need to be nVidia, but it's not using nVidia's 3D Discovery branded stuff.

IZ3D is very similar, in fact, you can play any games in 3D using the cyan-red glasses with their Stereoscopic driver.

I've tried it my self.

3d Gaming is no good for me. I dont have binocular vision.

I can not see abject with the 3d glasses on. You know the ones you get for books and puzzles.

So no wasting my dosh.
