Hello people,

Ok im building a new rig and just want to know if this RAM (Corsair DDR2 XMS Dominator PC2-8500C5) is ok to use. The motherboard is the eVGA 680i 775, and i will be using a e6600 or e6700 cpu.

Or would DDR2 PC2-6400 (TWIN2X2048-6400C4D) DOMINATOR be more suitable?

Thanks in advance

I was torn between those 2 as well went for the 6400C4 saved just over £50 in the end. At the moment can't get past 1050MHz with them. 6400 CPU is at 7 x 466 3.266GHz. Really would like to get 1066 stable.

ermm surely if you want your ram to go that high you shoujld of bought the one rated to go that high ?? ie the 8500. the 6400 is only rated at 800mhz.

as for guy above they shold both work but depends on what sort of overclocking you going to do if you dont intend to take it to the max then the 6400 should do fine.

Thanks for the reply people

I will be happy with running at 3.0Ghz so i will stick with the 6400, and with saving around £90 i will be able to get a 8800gtx instead of the gts which is always a bonus
