Just ordered a gtx 570.
Will the rest of my system hold back this card at all or will it be fine?

System is in sig.

Thanks

Your Dual Core CPU is going to be the limit in modern multi threaded games more than your graphics card IMO.

Which OS are you running? Seeing as you only have 3GB of ram I presume its 1a 32bit OS? In which case your also going to loose more system memory considering that our new graphics card has 1280MB of Ram... I would expect maybe only 2.5GB of usable? If this is the case I would be looking at going for a 64bit OS (Windows 7) and upgrade your memory to at least 4GB as well...

I either play at 1680x1050 or 1920x1080.

I have windows 7 64bit installed.

I will try and pick up some more ram.
I dont want to spend to much on my current setup as i dont think there is much more i can upgrade.

May look at new mobo cpu and ram in near future.

CPU should be fine, but can I ask why you upgraded for that res? A 4890 should still cope with new games no issue!

RAM will be a bottleneck in that system, but not for the GPU - will just affect total fps etc.
CPU should be fine.

Purchased a 3dtv so wanted a compatable card.
Also couldnt think of anything else to have for xmas :)

Would it be ok to use 2x2gb pc6400 memory alongside my 2x1gb of pc5300 memory?

Yes, but the PC6400 stuff will only run at 5300 speeds.

To be honest, I can't see the need for more than 4GB unless doing some extreming programming or encoding.

I'd get 4GB of PC6400 (such as: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-190-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=813 ) and then sell you're current kit on the MM or the bay to help subsidise the new RAMs purchase :)
