Will Creative ever replace XFI sound cards with something new

Yes, but when I posted a small tad of info I got slated.

See its impossible to have a X-FI2 but we have had Audigy 2 and G-Force 2 and NForce2 ;).

I have 2 pictures, 1 is the Chipset and the other is the complete card, that are supposed to be the prototype X-FI 2 card, its so far only PCI-E (think runs 2.0) and looks basic as the current low end creatives.

I again wont post as promised not to and no more info that I have said (as I do not know anymore) as the peep would loose his job (I do not know him but know the person he deals with) who is Classic_Leon from YouP-PAX site. (currently in the UK but he is Chinese).
 
I'd hate to see how a new card from Creative turns out, considering they struggle to get an existing lineup to work properly for a lot of people. Still, guess it would give them an excuse to abandon support for their older cards altogether.

...Not that they need an excuse, as they do that anyway, but hey ho.

PCI-E 2.0 you say i mean most of the people on ocuk don't have PCI-E 2.0 let alone the rest of the world and people with SLI like me will not be happy about that too. From what i can see they will have a very small market.:(

Thats not an issue, the new 8800GT and GTS 512 are PCI-E 2.0, dont you know its backwards compatable with PCI-E1.1 ?


Creative said years ago they would have major issues making a Soundcard on PCE-I 1.0 because of Latencys, they said PCI-E 2.0 would be far better.

Thats probably why the current PCI-E Creative cards are basic and bare PCB's they dont look anything like the Top cards.

I really doubt they wont make a PCI one, I only stated the Prototype is PCI-E and probably 2.0.
