GDDR is far different from DDR in its architecture I believe. Besides normal system memory benefits more from lower latency timings than it does clock frequency.
GDDR5 memory still is only 2000MHz or similar, while DDR3 has already hit this mark.
There is also no current chipset to support such memory currently.
