Will DDR3 prices continue to fall?

ram is mega cheap at the moment, I think that higher performance ram prices may fall, but I doubt that prices on normal spec ram will fall very much

It appears to fall around 10% every year it's out, until a new type comes out and it will skyrocket before you know it.

I wonder how long until DDR4.

I can't believe how disgustingly cheap XMS3 is at the moment. £27 for 4GB! paid £30 for 4GB second hand!....albeit not used.

how come graphics cards are already on GDDR5 while processors are stuck with DDR3?

is it that they are so different that they have no relation to each other in how they work or something?

GDDR is far different from DDR in its architecture I believe. Besides normal system memory benefits more from lower latency timings than it does clock frequency.
GDDR5 memory still is only 2000MHz or similar, while DDR3 has already hit this mark.

There is also no current chipset to support such memory currently.
