It's not a Pentium D though. It's a cut down 45nm Wolfdale core. According to the cpu support list no it will not take one. If that list is correct then the cpu compatibility of that board is pathetic. You would hope that Abit just can't be bothered to keep it up to date and that it will take one.
Should work fine. That board takes the E7x00 series and also accepts the Yorkfields. It will no doubt work but may not be recognised properly until a BIOS comes out to update the microcode.
