will i be able to max crysis?

hi all my system is as follows
q6600 @2900
4gb geil
650i
and i have 2x 8800gt on there way
am i going to be able to max out crysis @1440 /900

yeah you will. i can at 1280x1024 with 2/4aa on almost identical set up.

1680x1050 however can be maxed, but i prefer not to use AA, as the slight jittering can annoy me at times when its all kicking off ingame

Yes of course you can max out crysis with that rig.....or for that matter practically any rig.

But the big question is "will it run faster than 2fps?"

And are you using xp or vista? Reason been, xp faster than vista and max out in vista is everything on very high whereas max out in xp is just high.

And lastly, depends on what you find acceptable as a framerate.

Some people insist on 60fps, some find 25 fps "smooth as silk" with Crysis

put it this way, i can run crysis on very high, in game always circa 30fps, never below 20 with 2xaa on 1280x1024. and im running my cpu at stock. so if hes using xp, then he definately should be able to do it fine. vista, i dont know about that though, ill leave that to one of the benchmarks to tell you

@ the OP I am interested in this as I can pick up a 650i cheap and have some SLI action.

Will be interesting to see wether the 8x lanes limit things

You should be able to get nice high quality graphics though as i've tried the Crysis demo on a 8600 GT with a AMD 5600 x2 with 2 GB of ram and it ran well on medium settings pretty well and did'nt look to bad either

it works slightly, not really optimized though. hopefully some patches and nvidia drivers will address this soon enough. so just sit back as the frame rates improve

im runing a xp and i thought the reason the very high settings were grey was becuse i was runing a 8800gts320 i had know idea it was to do with vista!
does the game run better under xp or vista?

1440x900 is a lower than 1280x1024 so its going to be even better performance with 2x 8800GT in SLi! .
