hi,

i just ordered a new pc and i should be getting it within 10 days (few parts were out of stock... mainly the screen).
what do u guys think, will i be able to max all settings when i play bf 2142?

INTEL CORE 2 DUO S775 2.4GHz(E6600) 1066MHz/FSB 4MB
GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3
ASUS PCI-EX GeForce 8800GTS 640MB DDR3 320BIT DUAL DVI HDTV TV/O
WD 250GB 16MB SATA2 7200 RPM - ATA 150
ASUS DVDRW DRW-1608P2 DOUBLE LAYERED X16 - BLACK
TWINMOS 2048MB (1024X2) DDR2 667MHz CL5
ENERMAX LIBERTY 500W - ELT500AWT
The above comes with a decent cooling, and the screen is:
ASUS LCD 22" MW221U 2ms DVI WIDE (resolution: 1680X1025).

and could anyone please tell me what's all that AA 4F or whatsoever people are talking about (even if it's a stupid question I don't know the answer).

AA= anti alias, it eliminates jaggies on models making lines smooth...
AF= aniostrophic filtering, makes textures sharper



Yes that pc will run 2142 maxed ok...


Your psu should be good enough since core 2 duo's done use that much power....

Of course not. I'm running a similar PC with two more drives than that one on a 430W PSU and it's coping admirably.

The quality of the PSU matters far more than the wattage.

For one ... you pretty much have the best GPU you can find, you have one of the best CPU's you can find, you have 2 gb of RAM ... and then you ask if you can play a game at max settings?
That to me means : "Hi... i have a great PC"
OR
"Hi, I have too much money and I'm a tad slow"

Which is it?

mate sup3rc0w, dont bother mate, the mind boggles!! i personally feel that anyone with that spec....who doubts that they could play any game out now or released in the next year with that rig should be taken outside and shot! and the rig auctioned off to feed some orphans. (or given to me which ever is easier)

Lol, people always talk about how people have big e-penis. But to have a big e-penis, first you need to have a big penis IRL before even purchasing so many high end components. Fact of life.

And to OP, yes you can pretty much maxed out bf2142. But do understand at some part of the game you will experience slowdown.
