Will I be able to power a GPU requiring 3 x 8 pin PCIE with the cables I have?

We'll assume for the sake of argumentPSU has enough wattage.

I have 2 PCI-E cables.

With a total of four 6+2 pin connectors between, I alwasy read about using sep[erate cables, which amkes sense, until you run out!

That put to oneside. It's really confusing info on have many actually supplied with new PSU's even between their own websites description and their own downloadable manual it potentially ordering one a minefield.

If the PSU is a decent model then most likely you'll be fine with just one daisy chain. Lots of people run 3 8-pin cards fine on 2 cables. If you were buying a new PSU, then yeah, I'd try to get one that supports three cables.

It's a Seasonic Ultra Gold.

Yes, defintitely 3 cables + the new 12 pin thing were I to buy a new one.

What you need to do is look at the gauge of the cable. You should be okay with Seasonic, though. The preferred solution would be to buy an adapter cable that runs directly from the PSU to the GPU. Seasonic themselves produce one; I expect OCUK will stock it if asked, though I don't see your PSU on the compatibility list:

I'm wrong it's a Prime Gold 750W. I think using two cables plus one of the attached 6+2's should do it.

The reason I asked is that some of the older Focus Gold and Prime PSUs had issues with high draw cards.

I think, with enough ports available (I didn't check the number of supplied cables)

Yes:
- Seasonic Vertex (850 and up)
- Thermaltake GF3 (1350 and up)
- MSI Ai1300P

No:
- Asus Strix Aura (up to 1000)
- MSI A850G PCIE5, A1000G PCIE5
- Corsair RM850e V2

Yes, Pre-ATX 3.0/PCIE5:
- Corsair RM850x
- Seasonic GX (850 and up)
- MSI A1000G

Right, thanks for that, it looks like looking for the ports is the key not trying to find out how many cables are supplied.

Seasonic being a bit stingy with the warranties now, the Vertex - GX only has 7 years, you have to buy the PX to get 10 years - my unit from 2019 has got 12 years!

:)
