I am having stability problems (not ram related) with my Gigabyte board so thinking of getting this bundle.

I currenty have 6gb (Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (TR3X6G1600C9) ) and this looks the same as in the bundle, however when I click on it in my account (under the old order) it says the product is no longer available so there must be some difference?!, do you think I will be able to use it with the memory already in the bundle?, I suppose the worst that could happen is making the overclock unstable and then I would just take it out..?

Maybe the link changed because of price or something? Its currently on this week only offer atm.

Only problem is that apparantly its much harder to overclock when all ram slots are filled up.

Hi there, what is your current system and its instability problems? - perhaps we can help you out.

Are you planning on getting the new bundle because you can't get the current system (presumably another X58/i7) stable, and then add your existing RAM to it to make up 12GB?

If so, did you read this in the fineprint of that bundle:
Please note that adding in additional memory to the spare slots will require new BIOS settings and the maximum clock speed attainable may be significantly reduced

As for RAM compatibility - i'm pretty certain you will fine. Its all corsair, same voltage, speed and timings, so that should not be an issue.

I would love to buy a 12GB triple set (3x4GB) but I havent seen any on Overclockers for ages. Is this because it doesnt clock well?

You can get this one - but it is relatively expensive per-GB and only 1333MHz speed, CL9 timings.

However, if you really need 12GB then this would be the route I would go down. 1333MHz is plenty for an X58 triple channel memory system, and it means you don't have the mess of overclocking with 6 memory slots occupied.

Thanks, I wondered about that. I am running OCZ 6GB at the moment but it is the faster 2000Mhz ram, and it is running at 1600 on my 4.2 OC. This upgrade will be two months away (Christmas really) as I doing the storage mods next :)
