will my specs in my signature bottle neck the fury x water cooled version to you reckon specifically the 8350? and will the corsair rm 650w be enough? and will there be gigabyte, saphire, msi etc. versions of it next week?
cheers guys

That adapter will not work, you need an ACTIVE display port to DUAL LINK dvi adapter. the cheaper ones are all PASSIVE. (Keywords in caps, not shouting :P)

well then lets hope there is an adapter in the gfx card box if i am paying £500+ for it !!

Yeh, I think you'll find there are two hopes of getting an active adaptor with the Fury X, and one of 'ems called Bob!

Really?!?!?!!?

That is bat **** crazy....

What is the reasoning behind get rid of DVI if you cant run high refresh out of the box without spending another 100 + bucks ?!?!1

Might be time to get a 290x ! !! !

or spend even more and get another 120hz monitor with a display port!

you mean there wont be an adapter in the box? and i cant get 120hz over hdmi can i?

Nope, 60Hz over HDMI, so ill be going the new monitor route, as no way im going back to 60Hz from 144. :p

Be interesting to se when Nvidia use HBM, if they still have the DVI, as the TX and Ti does still.

It is called progress my friend. Display ports can do far more than Dvi ports overall and take up less space.

guess what.. the 980ti even has a dvi DL !!! so that means i will need to buy this active adapter to run 120hz and if my psu isnt big enough then buy a bigger one and the card which is over £500 great

I don't see how it couldn't have had DVI tbh, could have gone where that etched RADEON logo is, above the HDMI and DP ports, as its not like you're going to see that is it.

I know where you are coming from. But even Nvidia will leave DVI and VGA behind, it just happens to be that with Fiji, amd have left them behind already. It means they have simplified their boards quite dramatically with their move to HBM, also means they can have more ports at once. Even more on one card if they used Mini-DP.

Will be interesting to see next years Fiji based Fire-pro cards with 32GB of HBM2. Considering the 8hi stacks can go 8GB per module.
