Will I get a 10% FPS Boost If I upgrade to 2133 mhz

The Noctua D15 beats most if not all AIO without leaking, making pump noise and being cheaper so is a winner.

Comes 2nd consistently to the Corsair 105 here :

It also ;

Blocks the first motherboard-expansion slot ( where a lot of people would put a soundcard )
Restricts your choice of ram
Looks like arse

If you are spending close to £80 on an air cooler, then £25 quid more for the AIO isn't going to break the bank.

That Digital Foundry video was the decision maker for me. Made me realize just how much my 2500K 1866mhz ram was holding back my 980ti.

The 2500k is an excellent chip without a doubt, especially as its remained competitive for so long. However I was starting to compromise on graphic settings to achieve a steady 60fps, prime example being BF1 64 player, the 2500K is flat out.

Took the plunge last month and changed out for a 6700K. Pricey but do not plan to upgrade for another 5 years. Now BF1 is like smooth as butter!

Unfortunately for my bank balance I thought what the hell finish the job, and proceeded to buy a MSI X 1080...

You tested cpu in BF1 before slapping the 1080 also in I presume for this "Smooth like butter" just interested to hear please :)

Yeah, the 1080 is not installed yet, only ordered on Thursday. The difference in BF1 between a 2500K and 6700K is night and day at ultra with a 980ti.

The only way to make frame rates comparable with the 2500k was to disable all the post processing. For some they can live with that and that's fine. But for me its the start of the slippery slope, and before you know it your rig can only handle medium settings.

6700K was definitely a worthy upgrade for me. Not least because its much cooler and quieter. My 2500K at 4.6 ghz was much hotter and louder than my 6700K at 4.8 ghz.

A "Lot" of people do not even use a dedicated soundcard.

One thing a "Lot" of people do prefer however is a quiet rig and a stock DH15S against a Stock 105 will be much quieter unless you spent an EXTRA £30-£40 on fans.

The Noctua NH-D15S is better than the D15 in every way regarding Ram and PCIe clearance.

Stock for stock, the NH-D15 will be competitive while being much quieter with equal performance.

The 100i runs about 13dBA higher which is HALF the total noise from the NH-D15.

All down to personal preference though :D

That 2500k is easily overclockeable and stays cool.A cheap Hyper 212 will suffice if you have the room.Don't mind blowing money on a fancy cooler you don't need for that cpu.
