Hi ya guy just got all my part to build my first computer hehe the fun. just one question, i have anti stati band and mat for building, the the thing is what do i use to ground it, can i push the cocodile clip in to the place where the ground pin goes in a plug socket, and it will all work ok, dont want to be ungrownd or shock my self ali

u wont shock yourself/ or damage any parts anyway (the chances of doing so are so low, more chance of me giving you tonights lottery numbers) - just touch something metallic and earth'd to release any possible static you have.

Radiator is the best idea.

i've built many computers never using antistatic mats or anything, never had a shock. i think it's more likely that you can do damage to the components than to yourself

the components are a lot more sensitive to static than you are ;)
touching a radiator is your best bet, or wearing an anti-stat wristband

I've been so paranoid about this before, but with the faults I've had, and the spare pc I'm surprised they work at all the way I've dismantled them and put them back together. Unless you stand on the carpet rubbing your feet back and forth, I doubt you will build up much of a charge.

touch a radiator every now and then while building to discharge the static...

ah its been said already :p its what i do
