Hi Guys.

I've just splashed out of an overclocked i7 bundle from Overclockers, and i'm going to use my C drive from my old PC and plug it into the new mobo.

Can I do this, or will it not work? Boot after I tell the bios to run from the drive that is.

The drive is a 300gb Raptor going from a Asus P5Q Pro mobo to an Asus Rampage II mobo. The OS is Windows 7.

I have made an image of C on my E drive using Win 7's backup facility.

Any help greatly received.

New motherboard, new bundle, best to format and reinstall
Install using just one drive attached to begin with that way your MBR will defietly be on the C: drive, else things can get messed up.

I agree with the others, if you are doing a major hardware upgrade you really ought to install fresh. You could do it without reinstalling if you really wanted to, but why? By the time you are done arsing about with it all you could have installed fresh and got most of your apps back on there, safe knowing you wont have any conflicts etc.
