Will I notice a difference?

pentium d 805
8800gts 320mb
evga 650i sli
2gb ram

Will I notice a difference in performance (games) if I switch to a q6600?

I think my cpu is bottlenecking my in a lot of games (Left for Dead, GTA IV, World in Conflict, ARMA 2 etc...)

You will definitly notice a difference in L4D GTA IV and World in Conflict (I don't know about ARMA 2). The first 3 games all take advantage of quad cores, with GTAIV being almost unplayable on all but the highest clocked dual cores. I'd suggest upping your RAM to 3 or 4 G as well.

It'd be a massive difference, the Core2 architecture is waaaaay faster than the old P4, and the P4 will be bottlenecking that 8800 something rotten.

The 650 will work with the Q6600 yeah, but they don't like clocking past 3GHz really.

Probably better getting an E8400 or an E7xxx will be a massive improvement and will cloch higher than a quad on your board
