Hello

I recently connected a new 8port Cisco GB ethernet switch to my router which is all GB connections via a single CAT6 STP cable to one port. I have a 100MB broadband connection. The router is a new gen up to date Wireless AC etc etc model but has no other spare ports due to other machines connected to it

Connected to the ethernet switch:

Gaming machine (MMO a lot)
Printer/Scanner
Another Gaming machine
Work Laptop X2
Part time computers which are in for repair.
Future expansion of HD TV/Device to steam to the living room.

Will i saturate that port or not worry about it? Obviously not all the devices are hammering the connection all day long.

All of that stuff combined does not come close to 1 Gb/s. Online gaming uses a few Kb/s, sending a file to/from a printer/scanner is a few Mb/s at most, 1080P AVC streaming is maybe 10-20Mb/s depending on quality.

Should all run fine on a 100Mb/s switch.
