i currently have a sky isp provided modem wanting to upgrade to the dream machine pro

the sky modem does not support modem only/bridge mode i think using a

TD-W9970 i can put it in bridge mode but i still want full speed locally would i get that?

the other option i was looking at was to get an Openreach hg612 3b and try that would that be an option?

I assume you're on FTTC/VDSL? The HG912 or a Draytek Vigor 130 will be your best bet. Standalone VDSL modem without any fuss.
